New regulation for heat energy metering – new rules adopted
The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted new regulations that establish clearer and more modern principles for individual heat energy consumption metering in apartment buildings.
Although many apartment buildings in Latvia have not yet implemented the Heat Consumption Monitoring System (HCMS), this solution is becoming increasingly popular – especially in Riga, where the company ECENGO is actively carrying out several projects.
In buildings where the HCMS system has already been installed, residents positively highlight the opportunity to reduce heating costs and gain clear insights into consumption data. Many emphasize that the implementation was simple and did not require major changes to the existing heating infrastructure.
📢 Client feedback:
“Finally, we pay for what we actually consume – it’s fair and easy to understand.”
“The system is convenient, and the data is easily accessible.”
🔑 Main benefits highlighted by HCMS users:
✔️ Easy installation – no need to rebuild the heating system.
✔️ Accurate heat metering – everyone pays only for actual consumption.
✔️ Reduced costs – efficient energy use is reflected in the bills.
✔️ Transparent data – clearly shows where heat losses occur and how to reduce them.
These observations confirm that HCMS is not only a modern technological solution but also a practical way to improve heat energy management and achieve long-term savings.
